Andrea J. Garcia is running for Riverside Superior Court Judicial Seat #10 to enhance public trust in the judicial system and uphold the rule of law. With nearly 20 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to defending vulnerable individuals, particularly in immigration law, and promoting equal justice.
Transitioning from private practice to public defense, she became the first in-house immigration specialist at Riverside County, advocating for those facing deportation. Currently a deputy public defender in San Bernardino, she litigates post-conviction relief and serves as a key resource on immigration law, ensuring access to justice for all.

As an Immigration Expert Deputy Public Defender, upholding the Constitution isn't just her job — it's her daily work. The role of Deputy Public Defender Immigration Law Specialist exists because of the constitutional right to effective counsel and due process, guaranteed under both the state and federal Constitutions. Her career has meant doing the actual work, and upholding the promises and protections of the Constitution.
Broad and Comprehensive Experience, Not a Singular Experience:
As the only candidate whose career spans both public defense and private practice, Andrea Garcia is ready to pivot into the any area of law a Superior Court judge may administer justice, such as family, probate, civil, juvenile, and criminal. She brings the practical, hands-on perspective of someone who has run a small business and created units and resources within both the Inland Empires Public Defender’s Offices of Riverside and San Bernardino County.
She opened and operated her own law firm, providing direct representation to clients fighting deportation until she was offered the opportunity to build the first immigration unit at the Riverside County Public Defender's Office, and carried on her mission at the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office of ensuring due process for all. That entrepreneurial experience gives her a firsthand understanding of the needs of working families and small business owners alike.
